The paintings on the package tell the story of an old couple. They suffered terrible hunger from the drought and then a legendary bird gave them golden rice to eat. To show appreciation, they gave the golden rice to the world.

We created a label with classic and clean characteristics to compliment Joan’s illustration and the overall package design. By silk screening the illustration onto the bottle’s exterior, not only can people turn the bottle to experience the scene in its entirety, they can also see a different perspective of the illustration through the bottle and the fabulous wine inside.

The concept was to illustrate the hidden identity in a fun and interactive way. The result is a portrait of a princess which, thanks to a clever optical illusion, turns into a pirate when upside down. Subtle visual cues, such as mirrored descriptions, encourage people to invert the bottle and discover the other side.

Using the space of 90 m2 inside a historic tenement house in the district of Jeżyce, Poznań, the architects of the mode:lina™ studio designed a complex of delicatessen, café and space for sommelier workshops. Inspired by the atmosphere and aesthetics of ancient Italian architecture, the designers opted for its most traditional materials, grey stone and natural wood.

Downstairs, the walls are adorned with an exceptional selection of wine and champagnes while diners are able to sit at the antiqued copper communal dining table, which sits centrally in the space. A secluded ‘members room’ tucked around the corner will allow diners the opportunity to host a private celebration in a characteristic lounge with a private library feel.

The owners’ interest in focusing on the experience of wine finds its expression in the casual seating arrangements, and the subtle, natural materials and hues used to build out the space. Defining the space is the forty-foot-long, custom-fabricated, pewter-topped tasting bar, which is set atop a whitewashed pine base.

To date, no wine cases made in Chile were fabricated without vertical folds, the reason being that they are necessary for the industrial bonding process. However, we have found a way to leave aside that action: a self locking assembly that is hidden in the diagonal creases of the packaging.

The project idea was to use materials such as wood and metal in order to obtain a rustic finish, and neutralize the variety of colours and textures of the boxes and bottles. We also intended to generate a market ambient where the client can choose and take their product by themselve. The warm light invites the visitor to stay and taste the wines in the big table placed in the center of the store.
