The ceiling from reception through the pantry draws one through the space, mimicking the configuration of a roulette table and the wedged slots. There is also a ticker – complete with betting lines, odds and scores that are constantly updated – that runs throughout the office that establishes movement and flow all the way down the main circulation corridor.

The individually graded colour spectrum on each floor is shown in diverse applications: Both, the guidance system and the furnishing concept, follow a functional colour scheme. Large-scale wall graphics support the selection of colour-subjects per floor. Special areas, like meeting points are designed in a different colour on each floor and are nicely distinguishable by the varying selection of furniture modules and textiles.

We used real wood on the floor, raw corrugated steel on the walls and ordinary concrete blocks as exposition furniture. steel, blocks, wood – used with virtually no processing – everything can be reused. Materials utilise their purpose: steel is leaning against the wall, blocks are arranged in stacks – without decorations or talkativeness: material + form + function.

Because Italy is well known for its industrial design, the team specified Italian furniture and lighting fixtures. To reference the tradition of Italian masonry and fine craftsmanship, a long wall linking the two floors is covered with handmade Venetian plaster.
