Nineteen80 bar by Space Objekt, Singapore

The concept by Space Objekt sees eclectic touches that blend with classic 80’s icons. The entrance, for instance, is a ribbed pink light vortex that plays with mirrors and light. Artwork – created by Mojoko – references iconic arcade games and complements the playful aspiration of the space. The purpose of which is to create a clean space with a sense of nostalgia of the era.

Barraco bar by Quarta & Armando, Shanghai – China

Seating areas are organized according to the same principle, with a set of moveable low stools and beach chairs outside being the only furniture besides the hanging wooden swings surrounding the bar, matched indoor by a set of comfortable armchairs and high-stools, surrounding a hanging table/door which can be operated and pulled towards the ceiling to provide more space during a bigger party or event.

Using a bright color palette and geometric shapes, we managed to create a brand that attracts attention, which is timeless but appeals to new markets. A different, original and disruptive brand that captivates the consumer. Cafe Buho, a coffee shop with a different approach.

Belle and Sue store by Molet, Tel Aviv – Israel

To make this concept come alive we used a combination of concrete, solid wood and iron, as well as a touch of polycarbonate in the dressing rooms and shelves. As for lighting, we played around with light sources that add to Belle & Sue’s unique shopping experience.

Reebok Headquarters by Gensler, Boston – Massachusetts

The 100% open, group dedicated workplace seating fosters cross-discipline interaction and employee engagement. In addition to the workplace, space features a retail store, design lab, work cafe and two-story gym. The holistic environment supports Reebok’s commitment to physical, psychological and social well-being.

Akiba Dori by Samer Hamadeh, Dubai – UAE

Akiba Dori features seven unique storefronts serving Japanese street food, baked goods, coffee, a bar serving everything from Japanese beer to bottles of wine, a pizzeria named Tokyopolitan which serves Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizzas baked in a wood fired oven, and last but not least, a full-fledged arcade room for some old skool fun and banter.

KFC Hangzhou Theater restaurant by Spacemen, Hangzhou – China

What was deemed as constraints, we saw as an opportunity to rethink how people interact and dine in restaurants. Taking inspiration from public spaces, the design is characterised by our reinterpretation of outdoor and park seating arrangements.

Salsa Shop by Ninetynine, The Hague – The Netherlands

A very recognisable tile pattern of white, pale pink and red tiles of various sizes covers walls, ceiling and floor of the first three metres of the restaurant. A counter table along the facade allows people to look outside while enjoying their food. A communal table for ten completes this area.

M’OISHÎ ice cream shop by 4SPACE, Dubai – UAE

To reflect the traditions of making a rice dough, we used a wooden barrel as tables with a real rice grains inside. And to complete the overall concept, the bamboo rods were used as a ceiling feature with dimming technology that changes the café mood every minute. It delivers an exceptional piece and creates an instagrammable moment.

Sneaker District store by Barde + vanVoltt, Antwerp – Belgium

For the design of Sneaker District Antwerp, Barde + vanVoltt were inspired by sneaker design, the neighborhood and how sneakers are made. This resulted in a stand-out store showcasing a strong dark grey base on top of a concrete floor combining color, different materials, a touch of nature and some savvy street styles.

Chosen by Garis Architects and UNHabitat, the UPVC pipes give great flexibility in forming the angles and shapes with its off-the-shelves angle joint of this interactive art pieces formed by a combination of 36 vertical modules of various heights.

Taco Bell Feng Sheng Li by The Swimming Pool, Shanghai – China

Instead of generic outdoor arrangements, the Taco Bell design team took things to the next level and separated the alley space into several clusters to cater to different group sizes and dining habits, such as including a one sided bench where individuals can sit casually or where small groups can hang out and socialize.

Hermès collections at Milan Design Week, Milan – Italy

These seven monolithic and monochrome ‘Houses’ conceived by Charlotte Macaux Perelman and Alexis Fabry offer visitors an immersive experience, a dip in color to discover the Hermès home collection. Scenography designed by Hervé Sauvage plays up the graphic symbol of the square with rolls of paper drawn by hand that act as a background to the objects.

Complementing the hip vibe of each brand, the overall area elements are a combination of industrial finishes such as corrugated metal and natural stone tile with elements that are true to Scandi design – a bold and fun colour pallet, geometric graphics and patterned wood elements – all adding to the energy of the surroundings.

OLX Group offices by Pixers Business, Poznań – Poland

Although each zone has its own unique style, they have many common features. In each of them we will find original graphics with the values of the OLX Group, illustrated with portraits and quotes of famous characters. One cannot miss the coherent design concept of the conference rooms and meeting rooms. They were given the names of the cities where the OLX Group offices are located.

The interior design, created by local practice Atelier Ha, is understated and makes clever use of the store’s concrete shell by exposing the entire back wall. A whitewashed ceiling, adorned by diagonally placed sleek light fixtures, and flooring of polished concrete frame the sparsely furnished setting.

Based on the Street Culture branding of DOE, the design of the store introduces the concept of street and city. As the store opens up to the street, bringing in urban landscape, the boundary between inside and outside is dissolved.

Black Drop Coffee Shop by ark4lab of Architecture, Kavala – Greece

Α wooden platform built in levels and positioned towards the ‘Kapnergaton’ square removes its boundaries with the exterior transforming the coffee shop into an urban space of gathering. this emerging urbanity is complemented by a wooden structure with references to the parametric design where the user can sit and enjoy the coffee in different ways.
