The refreshed interior features specialist food areas throughout the store where shoppers can learn how to prepare dishes. These stations offer shoppers the choice to buy the dish pre-prepared, take the ingredients home to make it themselves, or even eat in-house at the supermarket’s bistro area.

The design also creates a gallery-like space; a ribbon of display forms a linear band throughout the space, attracting attention and allowing customers to easily navigate the space and view products in an ergonomic manner. Coupled with distinct, informational signage, the customer is better educated about the product and more able to make an informed and enjoyable buying decision.

This is a range of wines that Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize offers within its own brand “365”, which includes simple, everyday products at affordable prices. The cork is a sign of humility, an object of little value, often used as craft material, as a simple and easily manipulated element with which to play and create.

Kuruçeşme Macro Center supermarket by Autoban, Istanbul

Supermarket design is a new category in the Autoban project archive, and so is Kuruçeşme Macro Center, where the well-known supermarket chain is pilot testing their new gourmet-shopping concept. Autoban redesigned the façade and the interior of the supermarket by using raw and natural materials to create an overall industrial feel.

Deka Markt branding & store design by Twelve Studio, Wormerveer – Netherlands

Twelve have been working with Deka Markt in Holland since 2008, during which time we have helped to completely update their branding, communications, store design and printed literature. Deka Markt are the oldest supermarket chain in the Netherlands and as a family owned-business with over a hundred sites, one of the most successful and well-known.
