LoyaltyOne Offices by Gensler, Toronto – Canada

The wooden slat ceiling and wall panels, the central design element of the project, provides a visual and material connection to the myriad spaces throughout the six floors. This is most apparent in the application of the wood slat system in front of each office where the designers matched the same wood finish to create a seamless flow.

From the inside garden built next to the entrance, a pink bench emerges and runs alongside the room, passing through the coffee space – that levels the ramp with a deck – and turns itself into bleachers. At the back of the room there are toilets and Questto|Nó’s maker space.

A selection of orange gives the energetic feeling and the continuity from steps at the main entrance to the stairs that leads to the main reception and cardio space on the 2nd floor, and to the orange floor-wall-ceiling main jogging track on the 3rd floor respectively.

The whole project incorporates natural materials from sustainable sources: floors and tabletops made of bamboo and ceilings and shelves made of pine wood. Nature is incorporated into the interior design with a modular vertical garden system placed at the entrance and at the back of the dining room salad bar. Also, at the basement, nature is presented in a large natural parterre.

A log cabin is built under the stairs leading to the second floor, and the stairs are hidden behind the log cabin. The second floor is divided into several small spaces, instead of using solid partitions, we use shelves of green plants.

A wooden path starting from outdoors and continuing indoors. We devised an engrossing and constant surface that sincerely welcomes the customer as from outside through inside of the store. We named this indoor path as “podium”. Our purpose was to make customer feel special there.

Pure materials with lots of personality, such as a wooden floor distressed with a saw blade texture, stairs and wall covered in white classic marble and a countertop of genuine Belgian granite. Foreign visitors can enjoy images of Amsterdam in a vintage-poster-style mural showing the landmarks of the city. Everything conspires to embellish the Cheese Experience.
