Antidote flagship store by Atelier de Yavorsky, Miami – Florida

The interior combines industrial materials with a sophisticated palette of pink, green, blue and yellow. A thick pale-pink stripe surges down the centre of the concrete floor, topped by assemblages of geometrically shaped fixtures that elevate the products with colour.

Herit chair by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen

Simon Legald used oak and plastic when creating this chair for Normann Copenhagen, which seeks to combine mid-century and contemporary Danish design in its form. Launching during this month’s Milan design week, the Herit chair – short for heritage – features a solid oak frame, an enveloping plastic backrest, and a sculpted plastic or upholstered seat.

The coloring of the table linoleum and the shape of the table tops increase the distinctiveness of the rooms. As a continuous design element is a horizontal band of oak cabinets through all rooms. The precise built-ins with a permeable lamellar structure hide radiators, technical components and storage space.

The tree sculpture, the branches and the ceiling strips are all made of solid oak, and the wall frames have a powder coating in copper. The wall frames and central furniture have a recessed pilaster strip made of hard wood.

The design expands on the form language of the Maissi bench, using simple cylindrical forms to create seating objects that are surprisingly light and comfortable. Referencing East Asian and Nordic typologies, the minimalistic form is made both strong and comfortable by the angle created between the upper rail, which sits atop the legs, and the lower rail, which rests just in front.

The electrical orange nuances on the sides of the furnishing and a selection of shelves and stickers all contribute to the unique sense of elegance and modernity. Lastly, the decorations comprising of LED letters and an origami trophy, establish the store in the world of fashion and product presentation.
