baLon.fem beauty salon by Log.design, Fukuoka – Japan

Although the space is not large, the effect of making gates that light up the entire line and the gray mirror which is used on the closet made the space visually large enough. For the reception counter and the set stand of the symbolic elements of this salon were created by combining mortar and solid wood to leave a sense of each texture and finished it into a simple design with a solid feeling.

The use of a material palette full of reflective qualities such as mirrors, brass bring a delicate feel to the place whilst the use of exposed brick walls and metal fittings give the place a rather raw feel, more in tune for our younger audience.

The first and the shorter one is the waiting area, surrounded by a translucent white curtain that separates it from the cutting area. The highest ceiling area is characterized by a golden cylinder with a black velvet curtain/door, nuclear structure where the hair washing function is performed.

The white triangles stand out in contrast to the grain pattern of the wood and give rhythm to the space. Also the effect of the geometric pattern influences your optical sense to make the low ceiling (CH = 2400mm) in the salon seem higher.

The venue has been given a remarkable makeover, and its a project that aims to resonate on a global scale, anchoring Shiseido as a top cosmetics and fragrance brand for all the world to see.

Aesop Facial Appointments comprises of three rooms, all furnished with specially selected pieces designed by Paulin, Paulin, Paulin, and aims to offer soothing getaway from the city’s hustle and bustle.
