Interior double-height “lounges”, facing each of those hanging gardens and all possible associated uses, allow to make a welcomed transparency in the depth of the building and the plot. The play made here on the insertion of roughness allows to organize the building “Ampère e+” by offering it diverse uses and new timescales.

The expression of raw materials – colorless varnished wood, polished concrete floor et galvanized railings, the care giver to their implementation as well as the visibility of the structure and of the technical bodies express the particular attention to the raw material, the one that was already there, the one used to build and which is too often hidden from public view. The ceiling is like a veil that shows what is going on behind the scenes.

For the refurbishment of this cosy boutique located in the historic center of Mirano, a town near Venice, the main idea was to use a soft velvet curtain behind which can be hidden the dressing area, the rest room and the storage.

Each corner has differentiated exhibitors following the design of each brand. Thus, the furniture in one of the corners has a white lacquered cabinet with shelves and drawers, in another one we have implanted metal furniture with spikes, for hanging products, and the third is made up of several wooden shelves in similar tone to the floor pavement.

The layout of the guest room is u-shaped around the building core. This evoked the idea of a visually dematerialization while using dark coatings and mirrors. In contrast, the bars and the four fireplaces are particularly emphasized in the room with gold coating of the surfaces and staged.

The new interior of “Boa Hair” is giving the impression of entering an own world, a new identity of the hairdresser’s salon – the space has given a hair cut. The complete underside of the ceiling is covered with hanging white-transparent fibres. A slight movement circulates in the fibres when hairdryers blowing air through the space.

The refurbishment of the existing two storeys structure, with a petite floor plate of only 60sqm, saw the need to manipulate the building facades to create a strong street presence.

In order to get a continuous space terrace-café, it was necessary to apply architectural mechanisms, able to dissolve the boundaries between the building and public space. From the very first sketch, a winding cul-de-sac layout was the leitmotif that let us deal with all those heterogeneous conditions.
