Go into the dining space, a great quantity of gratings and colour assortment(wood and white) has brought a strong impact of Japanese style. There is a ring bar in the middle of space which is a micro landscape with innumerable mountains and valleys by using moss and stone. Among this area, we are not only decorate space lively, but also make people and food, people and space to interflow on their feeling and mood.

Japanese Shoryu restaurant by Blenheim Design, Oxford – UK

Nine meter long open kitchen is a focal point whilst bronze and brass bar sits to the side overlooking the whole space. Traditional building techniques of Japan were fused with elements of Oxford. Oak, stone and bronze is a positive nod to historic Oxford, whilst Japanese elements come from illuminated rice, lanterns, bamboo and suspended sake box screens.

KURAGANE, its appearance looks like old Japanese warehouse or fine traditional stores at that time. The color and materials used in this bar is the one we can see in the traditional Japanese architecture and interiors like black wood, white paint, natural wood, ropes to feel the history of that place,but it still looks modern Japanese style in someway.

This was the project to open the Japanese ramen noodle restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. We considered it was a key to make our customers feel ‘Japan’ since we were bringing a real ramen noodle restaurant from Japan.

The pendant lights made of wire inspired by Tonkotsu ramen noodle.(It is called Harigane(wire) because of its hardness), Spray with white on the wall which expressed the pork soup, etc. Set with Ramen itself as motif through the restaurant, and yet I aimed to design innovative Ramen restaurant and a space where people can feel comfortable.

We give you a taste of Kenji Tei as they are, without drowning them in sauce and seasonings. Three colors are enough: red, white, and black. The logotype is influenced by Japanese calligraphy. The overall result is classy, but inviting.
