Flos installation by Vincent Van Duysen at Light + Building 2018, Frankfurt am Main – Germany

Designed by Vincent Van Duysen, the installation is inspired by the idea of a secret garden – within the stand, lush greenery is completely enveloped by neutral grey flooring and wall surfaces, allowing the lighting to stand out as the only design element.

Toyota Drive to Go car rentalby Archicept City and Inamoto & Co., Nagoya – Japan

The first realization of Drive to Go is located in Nagoya, Japan. An SUV parked prominently outside the café, along with wooden ‘picnic’ furniture inside the space, illustrates Archicept City’s glamping motif, a luxury style of camping that’s gaining popularity among young urbanites.

A very futuristic geometric sense of the interior filled with red and black hitting the tone, red symbolizes passion and explosive while black is distributed calm and restrained gas field. The perceptual blood grows in the rational enclosure, and the two colors are balanced in confrontation.

Lumberjack Showroom by CBTE Architecture, Istanbul – Turkey

While an area was created with a brick wall and plaster for the outdoor, the inspiration for the street fashion was to use graffitis. The middle of the showroom was kept empty for those, who examined the products to move freely, while the displays were exhibited on the walls.

Other noteworthy installation is the storefront signage, featuring intricate details of the A&F logo – which was designed and fabricated directly from the United States. The resin veil inspired by the traditional bamboo work and created by the local craftsmen will protrude from the floor to the ceiling to envelop the space and as it acts as a shade for days with strong sunlight, like a sail receiving the breeze from the sea, and a cocoon to wrap the guests gently at night.

Exploring changes from the subtle details, the boardroom is no longer a rigorous gesture with a unique ingenuity of the orange-red color, where Chinese calligraphy is vertically hanging on the wall, and black and white ink based picture of the West Lake and red cedar is in the opposite wall.

A framing element of wet chestnut timber encapsulates each space while threaded merino yarn works to create subtle area dividers. This rustic material palette contrasts with the black steelwork of the fixtures and bold, brushed steel Icebreaker logo present at each site.
