Beyond, local employees and visitors can move into the large open spaces intermixed with collaborative areas and meeting rooms, having the services relegated into the back of the building where views and natural lighting are scarce.

In the aspect of materials and details, our design particularly respond to their different spaces and programs with our own attitude. Gray-colored river pebble terrazzo floor goes well with brass divider and margin. Many of the metal works are designed and made on-site.

Upon entry, a curving bronze mirror wall is overlaid with a complex pattern of timber battens, partially reflecting the spectacular views opposite, which becomes the backdrop to an organic reception. The wall also conceals a secret door to the communal kitchen and lunchroom beyond. The lobby works as both a welcoming setting and converts easily to a pre-function space for entertaining large groups.

Enter a contemporary bright red and white layout table disguised as a pool table, or a pool table disguised as a layout table? perhaps it depends on what time of the day or night it is being used! The contrast of the pool table against the wall-hung sporting memorabilia and suspended heavy rustic recycled beam wrapped in vintage lights makes even the utilities area a cool and desirable place to hang out.

Meeting rooms, lounge and seminar halls, independent from the walls and ceilings, were designed as floating boxes with different materials and colors, aimed to break the uniformity of the existing structure. These units are considered to be open to shared spaces within easy reach of all offices, while providing human scale with different ceiling levels, with the idea of creating space within the space.

Photobox Group Headquarters by Oktra, London – UK

Manage and build – Photobox Group opted to maintain and showcase the industrial roots of the site, with exposed original concrete walls, pillars, ceilings and an original crane hanging over the reception, contrasting with the clean, modern and colourful design and furnishings throughout.

The Distillery – Social Reactor by KOGAA Studio, Brno – Czech Republic

One of the latest and most impactive structural interventions was carried out at the second and third level of the building, where the central beam system was removed to create a double height hall and two balconies facing the central space. The former is meant for presentations, lectures, and workshops, while the upper balconies are dedicated to designers’ ateliers and offices.

Economic use of the red denotes the CEO’s dog, name of the firm and logo muse, Redtail. Irregular soffit forms imply the motion of an evolving technology environment. These shapes continue through the open office and connecting conference rooms while expanding the palette to sportive colors, vibrant graphics, and dramatic lighting.

The black paint finishes, cement floors and dark gray steel plates strengthened the consciousness of the original space’s atmosphere. Without adopting unnecessary process and decoration, the additional built part is applied with industrialized steel and iron materials which corrode naturally as time passes by.

The blue tones have been featured in the work areas to enable focus without distraction. Warmer tones elsewhere draw in a more relaxed, friendly setting to unwind. Finally, feature light and acoustic panels were carefully placed to compliment the selective areas, and the entire journey.

The refreshed branding consisted of bright and bold colours, meaning the interior needed to follow suit and wow visitors. Taking inspiration from the surrounding water of the Docklands the main flooring is made of poured resin, giving a bright blue seamless finish.

Avoiding discrimination, the building is a link between both urban and rural worlds. It gets closer to the village through the outer space that was designed as an extension of the building. There are shady and wooded areas to stay, where the occupants can expand. It invites people to travel in it. On the top, a grandstand directs the views to the rural world.

The design promotes activity in its planning with circulation paths that establish neighborhoods, double as walking tracks, and connect staff to a wide array of spaces for collaboration and teamwork. Details throughout the space refer to Brunswick projects – a wall curves similar to a boat hull and materials are reflective of products with wood, steel, felt and slate defining composition.

Notice the rough edges, the raw plastered walls and the old beams on the ceiling which forms a perfect contrast to the modern look of the steel wall cover. The steel wall-cover creates a perfect acoustic in the open work environment.

The white panels snake and bend about to form the skin of the space, shaping its ceiling, walls, and shelves. Arching across the warm-toned walls, the panels carve out the different heights and layers of different spaces, all diffused under a soft glow to form a cohesive whole.
