Small clusters of seating and desks allowed for people to work as a group without disrupting the rest of the office. This allows for collaboration and discussion among staff without hampering the productivity of other team members.

The design features a series of “living rooms” offering a variety of comfortable seating from communal tables to sofas and oversized chairs, semi-private booths and closed door conference rooms. There is something for everyone. The main area is outfitted with ample places to plug in and digital screens for projection.

Working in such an impressive and historic building meant we could design a space that went beyond the usual confines of an office space. The concepts were inspired by large gallery spaces, warehouses and industrial spaces and the high ceilings meant that we could create something bespoke and take a more architectural approach.

The overall design drew inspiration from a base palette of both classic and contemporary materials that reflected the industrial nature of the base-build, punctuated with the more colorful and striking characteristics of the Adobe brand that all creatives are familiar with.

Hiya office by Csiszér Design, Budapest – Hungary

The glass doors, with visual circuit pattern, make the reception open-plan with the rest of the office. By knocking down the wall and removing the old ceiling, the size of the floor space almost doubled and light came flooding in. We designed stray lights and adjustable lights, so the ceiling reflects light which creates the illusion of greater depth.

Although each zone has its own unique style, they have many common features. In each of them we will find original graphics with the values of the OLX Group, illustrated with portraits and quotes of famous characters. One cannot miss the coherent design concept of the conference rooms and meeting rooms. They were given the names of the cities where the OLX Group offices are located.

Unusual colour swatches are found in this space on several corners. The combination of pastel colors is projected on the pink and mint color painted on the mailbox as visitors enter through swiveling doors.

For the shape of the whole space, though we take factories of the Age of Steam as the prototype, we cut off the complex parts, and kept only the most basic functional parts, which includes practical compositions such as reaction tanks, energy delivery pipes and walking platforms for engineers. These main functional parts also reflect corresponding activities which are going to happen here.

The first step to the design was to carefully, consider the space and derive space efficient solutions with meticulous detailing that could optimize the client’s requirement. Inspired by the materiality of tea filters and the Client’s packaging design, the intention was to create metaphoric spaces evocative of corrugated packaging with forms and spaces constructed of metal mesh suggestive of tea filters that enclose, shape and articulate.

The large plaza, surrounded by exposed brick fronts, is livened up by carefully positioned trees, while a thick wood of lime trees gives the project a distinctly ‘green’ feel, focusing on sustainable design.

Transparent sliding screens replace traditional physical barriers and create a sense of privacy while retaining the store’s open atmosphere. On the pegboards brand content is mixed with large-scale graphics inspired by the store’s locality, ensuring the Garages feel relevant, approachable and fun.

Traditional pattern tiles, representing the old roots, are fused into the flooring of ‘factory’, showing the circulation throughout the office. And thus, with the futuristic ceiling above lightening up and traditional flooring showing the way, the philosophy is integrated the workplace: ‘Aims for the future ahead but still keep the old remembrances in mind’.

XMOS office by Amarelle, Bristol – UK

We designed a space for XMOS that hits on the future of technology, a space to show off their voice activation hardware and bring this technology to life within the space. We wanted to include some futuristic elements that gave a nod to popular culture, Knight Rider, The Star Ship Enterprise for example, without going over the top.

A homogenous appearance was achieved by making use of only one material, which, in turn, was predominantly used in black. The material contrasts both with the tall, bright walls and the OSB surfaces that were already installed during the renovation.

The 2-story entry plaza contains dramatic 20’ high branded messaging elements as well as a reception point and hospitality zone complete with espresso machine and a horizontal touch screen for a variety of leveraged content. SkB developed branding concepts and owned the static branding design.
