The commercial room is divided in to three integrated spaces, the first with a male identity with rustic finishes such as iron, concrete, natural wood and strong textures in earth colors, the second more subtle for a female product with cleaner walls, in shades of gray soft, cleaner furniture with continuous linear display, in direct lighting highlighting the shapes and perforations so that natural light mixes with artificial light creating a lighter atmosphere.

The textures of terrazzo floors and natural wood (a local variety similar to chestnut) and stone with accents of bronze and brass evoke a localized palette. A dramatically lit, wide stairwell of variegated Italian gray marble with brass inlays ascends to the more substantial experience at the Reserve Bar, also crafted from gray marble and natural wood.

Designing the concept was both an exploration exercise into 80-90’s asian pop culture as it was re-imagining asian fusion so it would stand on its own as Canberra’s go-to place. Designed to be a flexible all-day dining asian eating house, the venue had to allow for counter-side lunches and asian tapas dining to late night whisky, sake bar and cocktails.

The space has very few walls, and we let the walls state their own story by using earthy materials like Exposed brick, exposed rcc rendering, natural wood and stone claddings. Use of such materials & chosen antique accessories gives a thematic & aesthetic appeal to the entire space.

The 900 sq. ft. environment created for Hats in the Belfry feels more like a home than a commercial retail environment. It is bright, and welcoming. Rustic wood floors, reclaimed doors, and natural wood fixture details compliment and add warmth to the clean, white space.

Using the space of 90 m2 inside a historic tenement house in the district of Jeżyce, Poznań, the architects of the mode:lina™ studio designed a complex of delicatessen, café and space for sommelier workshops. Inspired by the atmosphere and aesthetics of ancient Italian architecture, the designers opted for its most traditional materials, grey stone and natural wood.

Exploring changes from the subtle details, the boardroom is no longer a rigorous gesture with a unique ingenuity of the orange-red color, where Chinese calligraphy is vertically hanging on the wall, and black and white ink based picture of the West Lake and red cedar is in the opposite wall.

The rear cabinet storage loaded with books terminates into a tree foliage at the ceiling. This rear cabinet is designed with thinnest veneer clad sections of 12 mm. Fresh leaf motives run through glass, at the same time blocking the vision at eye level.

The most distinctive finishing touch is the design of a corporate herringbone pattern which with we have manufactured MDF panels overlayed on natural wood to completely cover the walls and furniture.

The stripped back palette of natural woods, clean marble and rough rendered walls and counters is the perfect setting for the Scandinavian inspired dishes. The flexible space with bi-folding doors brings the restaurant out into the centre of Neal’s Yard.
