The temporary hospitality experience takes inspiration from London’s gentlemen’s clubs – opening the traditionally exclusive concept ‘to anyone interested in ceramics as an artistic and architectural form’. The tactile allure of marble, metal and concrete present in the Grande ceramic slabs are experienced alongside Grand Carpet, the collection by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.

A unique pattern was created and used around the interiors surrounding, from the use of the different metals to form layers and help enhance the height of this restaurant. We have decorated the restaurant and bar with an Art Deco theme in mind, with a combination of gold and different variety of stones for a sophisticated and elegant finish.

Creation of multiple differentiates spaces on one level, offering various working dynamics, going from collective workspaces, toward individual workplaces, meeting points, meeting and training: open space, cockpit, bubbles, food-truck, exhibition area / showroom, arena, London phone booth, coffee-lounge with fireplace, etc.

Toy’s Factory office by Schemata Architects, Tokyo – Japan

These spaces loosely connect with each other and form a continuous open space around the central core, where one feels the light and city vibrancy everywhere. The floor level of this continuous space is highest at the executive room and artists room, which gradually descends to the lowest point at the entrance space and office on the south side.

Unusual elements within the design include the bar which is 28-metres long inside a bandstand, and the food stands, which are modern beach huts where the panelling has been designed to make the total appearance like an axonometric drawing (they look 3D but they are 2D). To further compliment the 1920s English Riviera brief, we took traditional iconography and re-interpreted it with a modern twist.

The use of wood for the framework, or the approximately 900 carefully selected plant species in lush green, which have been decoratively placed, take up the vision of the young brand. The green oasis with urban flair presents in the interior a Heritage Wall, which shows the history of the brand in a creative and vivid way.

Our solution was to create a more personal, semi open-plan workspace language; through landscaping a series of smaller domestic scale areas that created team identity. Each was personalized through introducing a varying texture of custom storage units, lighting type, ceiling details, glazing detailing, flooring, & furniture types.

Walls, ceiling, and flooring were removed to expose the natural raw materiality of the existing core and shell to showcase a classic, minimalistic, and sharp look. New steps and accessible ramp were added to improve the connectivity across the office.

The dining venue flanks one side of the building, right along avenue Du Président Wilson, and is marked with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow in floods of daylight. The new interior design features clean lines and a certain level of minimalism that’s quite agreeable with the elongated dimensions of the space.

In a clean palette of whites corian and stone, light was used to illuminate and accentuate the sleek edges and geometric volumes of the space to seemingly allow the walls, ceiling, reception and conference rooms to ‘Float’.

The dynamic and pleasant shape of the self-service counter accompanied by the same wave-like curve at the ceiling, illuminated with an LED strip, enhances the warm atmosphere of wood surfaces below in combination with the clean white shelves.

The floor and mass of the walls were finished with gray colored main stone with minimal design. White marble pillars and floor patterns give special characters to the space. Through wall, situated at the edge of RE: BAR, opens up and closes the space smoothly. Furniture of the lounge was placed to offer a warm, cozy feeling to remind a living room and a den.

We were asked to create a flagship look for the brand that takes cues from the luxury hospitality industry, a theme deriving from the so-called ‘beauty hotel.’ The notions of comfort permeates throughout the design concept with each furniture piece selected for it’s ergonomic properties from both a customer and a service staff point of view.
