The materials reflect the harsh and unpredictable nature of Iceland. For this, typical colors were defined as blue (blá) and yellow. Through the use of concrete, oak wood and felt, the colors blue and yellow are supported.

The space is divided into two color worlds (theme worlds) almost in the middle: the corall / powder / gray combines with copper and cognac colored leather and a pink marble as a table top and forms the guest / sitting area.

The interior design also reflects this: sturdy reclaimed wood in the counter cover is vis-à-vis the cement tile, which emphasizes the position of the counter. The first step of the renovation was to pull down walls and install glass partitions. The suspended ceiling grid was converted into an open ceiling, which gave it an industrial look. Paths were created with a concrete structure and the warm wooden colours of the furniture were combined with a fresh green tone to give the space a light, inviting feel.

The Hamburg based design company Preussisch Portugal has created an inspiring interior design concept based on the sights of the city: the spacy entrance area resembles the Hamburg Harbour and meetings rooms are based on different parts of the city like the famous red light district „St. Pauli“, the Hanseatic villa district of „Blankenese“, the trendy „Schanze“ and an extensive botanic garden called „Planten un Bloomen“.

During seven weeks atelier 522 redesigned three floors and created new touchpoints of customer experience. The result is a natural sports world with exciting product stagings, a generous living room atmosphere and great experiences.

The coloring of the table linoleum and the shape of the table tops increase the distinctiveness of the rooms. As a continuous design element is a horizontal band of oak cabinets through all rooms. The precise built-ins with a permeable lamellar structure hide radiators, technical components and storage space.

L&T Sportshaus with Hans Boodt Mannequins, Osnabrück – Germany

The store offers sportswear and equipment on 5 floors with an area of 5000 m2. Besides an indoor gym, the building includes a special feature; a wave pool for indoor surfing. The complete Hans Boodt Mannequins Sports collection can be seen through the entire store.

O2 Live flagship store by hartmannvonsiebenthal, Frankfurt – Germany

The Frankfurt skyline stretches through the urban structures and people as an illustrative highlight, bringing a touch of regionalism to the space. The suspended glass sculptures, modelled on rising air bubbles, take the form of the original O2 brand element.

Death & Ritual – Cultures of farewell and remembrance exhibition by Gourdin & Müller, Chemnitz – Germany

The “farewell paths” are corridors of varying colours, in which visitors can pass through different stages of mourning, reminiscence and parting. The interaction of light and shade, of black, white and colour effectively expresses the aspect of transcendence and transition from this side to the other, from finite to infinite and from life to death, in all of its facets.

The approximately 550 sqm ground floor is the “Belle Etage” of the venerous store in the heart of Colognes city center. It reflects the competence of Ortloff for high-quality writing instruments and paper products. The modernization was preceded by an intensive analysis of strategic positioning, including a new concept store area with a spectacular connection to the open store front with a lifestyle-oriented array of curated design accessories.

Hotel Domizil by DIA – Dittel Architekten, Tübingen – Germany

The design is derived from the name of the hotel and the character of the city. The »Domizil« (= home) exudes a good feeling, resulting in a bright mood and rousing confidence. The peaceful effect of the Neckar River and its colours are incorporated into a harmonious concept.

The main display was located in a construction inspired by modern mountain shelters. It consists of two joints cabins with characteristic sloped roofs. Its façade was covered with dark wood, often seen in traditional mountain architecture. The interior walls were, in contrast, lined with pine plywood, which gave it a feeling of warmth.
