A once fragmented set of packaging was overhauled to create a singular voice, confident yet appealing, with a much more powerful and consistent shelf presence. Moving into cans allowed 56 to compete at the level of the competition. Sales of beer both at the taproom and in retail have both drastically increased since the updated brand launched.

The Vespampère is a free reinterpretation of the classic Vespa by italian designer Giulio Iacchetti. With an electric motor and a cantilevered seat that links back to the 98 cc model, the company’s first scooter launched in 1946, the Vespampère’s dynamic, light design nods to the slimmer, stylish Vespas rode by actors in neorealist films.

The Tokyo-based product designer adheres to this year’s theme Play Play Playful Life, and created nifty pinball games, comprising of colourful wooden elements, moving balls, and obviously adorned by Hermès merchandise.

Jacobs Medical Center by CannonDesign, La Jolla / San Diego – California

Although one building, the 10-story hospital functions as three medical specialty centers— housing inpatient services for high-risk obstetrics and neonatal care, cancer care and advanced surgical care. The building’s overall curvilinear form was driven by the design of the patient units, but also by advanced modeling to capitalize on views, maximize daylight and minimize solar gain and glare.

Vinoteca wine store by Zooco Estudio, Vallaloid – Spain

The design is characterized by a series of wooden arches which evoke ancient underground cellars. The architects employed the arch to serve as a central motif throughout the design, alluding to wooden barrels of wine cellars, bottles of wine, and antique vaulted cellars.
