The white color of the parquet and walls in opposition to the tuff of the vaults and recesses, a warm and expressive material of the local architectural tradition, is the predominant element. To give greater lightness to the tuff are conceived simple black hangers surmounted by small square, rectangular or circular shelves.

A clothing shop in Seoul, Korea, is a fusion of cubes and colour. Throughout the 224-sq-m womenswear store are hundreds of lattice frames, shaped in squares that can be dismantled and reassembled to adapt to display requirements.

We decided to add shielding elements to create a space that could never be seen in its entirety, one in which different elements appear and disappear from view, changing customers’ experience of the shop as they move about it. Walls create an over-strong sense of pressure, and the space already contained a number of doors, so we added even more doors to it.

We had been requested to design a clothing shop in Shizuoka-shi Japan. In residential projects, we think about the relationship between the internal and external space but for this project, we started to think about the relationship between the products and the two different spaces.
