Gaggenau flagship showroom by Einszu33, Chengdu – China

Drawing inspiration from the inner courtyards found in ancient Chinese homes, the designers incorporated a miniature courtyard in contemporary style. Black forest trees are used in reference to Gaggenau’s German heritage at the core of a stripped-back, clean yet technical aesthetic – also reflected in the products.

The Budapest Café is designed to feel feminine, light and fun, despite its loftiness and exposed structure. A pink ball pool, neon signage and original Eero Aarnio Bubble chair inspire playfulness, and the bathrooms surprise with speckled pink terrazzo to complement and contrast with the nostalgic-green hues of the café.

The hotel is transferred into a modern art gallery. Photos and products of the old good times were displayed in the lobby as art work. Every room was decorated in monotone. Pictures on the wall are street views in black-and-white color, furniture in black, white or grey are in retro style.

Part of the design of the entrance follows the brand’s consistent green logo and shining triangle but with some changes and redesign in the presentation, enhanced by the black metal framing around the showcase which centralizes the sight, shapes the brand feature and leaves the customers a new impression on the new brand image.

In order not to let the rough cement damage the delicate meal atmosphere, however, we used cement board to replace the original cement, combined with delicate furniture and material of wall, it made the whole space present a feeling as simple but not easy, rich but orderly-coordinated.
