Each contains a hand-made model of a insect connected to a short wire and a ring of LEDs around the top. Using sensors to detect visitors walking past or between the bulbs, the lights turn on and the artificial bugs buzz around inside in response to movement.

Brousseau’s team set about the re-design from a blank canvas. All existing wood was painted black to create a dramatic contrast against the stone walls, and a 70ft long bar was installed with its front and shelves behind illuminated with LEDs. Bubble chairs were suspended under the staircase and a brand new pizza oven was made visible to diners.

German company Ledo LED Technologie GmbH has created ‘Bulled’, a series of three retrofitted LED light bulbs which match the size, shape and brightness of incandescents while being 85% more energy efficient. 11 dimmable LED modules combine in a single frame to create as much illumination as a 60 watt incandescent while only being 11 watts.

Black Fiber 40 is a fiber optic light inspired by the classical lamp shape with an exclusive futuristic touch. The shade provides light itself through the fiber optics and due to the transparent fibers it creates a sparkling and airy feeling. Crystal Light by QisDesign

For a more ambient eco-lighting solution, we love QisDesign’s gorgeous glowing Crystal Light, which consists of a luminous set of icosahedrons that snap together using magnets. Each cluster of LED lights can change colors independently or all at once, and they can be infinitely expanded by purchasing an additional set of bulbs.
