Each bulb was handblown and sandblasted to form an organic shape, while the stands were given minimalist forms with varying heights. Semi-precious stones were chosen for their resemblance to natural landscapes, and included black tourmaline, emerald beryl and crystal quartz.

The flush of warm peach is deepened by rust-hued suede banquettes while end-cut natural wood flooring primes the space from below. The playful terrazzo bar snakes through the interior like a coastline and responds to the deep jewel tones of the teal armchairs. The energetic materiality of brass is the red thread throughout the space, as pendant light fixtures orbit the bar and a brass door frame reflects a golden glow.

The hard lines of this brass spine is defined from one of the most important elements of the project: a golden partial ceiling, symbol of the personality of ASH. It is characterised for integrating multiple holes from which light is projected, following the needs of the space; while other orifices are prepared to add lamps and hanging shelves, at the same time that they allow to fix the main structures.

White, terrazzo and brass are key materials in the interior space. Concise white sets off the structure of brass tube, terrazzo material extended from the ground to the wall waist line. There are curved arc terrazzo on both sides of the entrance, as if both hands stretched out to welcome customers.

The great commercial success of the Speers suspension lamps has led the manufacturer, B.lux, to expand its collection to include wall and floor versions. They all share the same 11-centimetre diameter mini-shade and LED technology, since they feature a high output LED that includes a glass lens to focus the light and magnify the light output.

The planners at Konrad Knoblauch GmbH from Markdorf on Lake Constance showed a strong sense for the needs of the future guests. They managed to incorporate the sensitive heritage of the jail into the new hotel using a light-hearted and tongue-in-cheek approach.

The restaurant is set across three of the building’s lower floors, and boasts an interior design that’s clearly inspired by midcentury aesthetics. The dining area is encased by floor-to-ceiling glass that allows in floods of natural light and provides sweeping city views at the same time. walls covered in vertical wooden slats form the backdrop of a variety of seating arrangements.
