The mirrored sales counter opens the room to all sides and it is not immediately clear to you in which corner the room begins and ends. The combination of velvet and glass, bright yellow and the black / white stripes barely avoids looking away.

With a simple design in all its elements, the furniture for the exhibition, we imagine it in natural oak wood, which embraced the two walls of the premises and with two types of showcases, similar in capacity, which are integrated into the oak slats on one side and arranged in cubes of white lacquered wood, which emerge from a wall of mirrors, in the other.

Within this concept of tailor made design, and adapted to the new shopping consumer habits, a very dynamic purchasing process has been achieved. All its collection of products, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings, is implemented over the furniture surface itself without any type of physical barrier.

Avenue Road showroom by Abraham Chan, Vancouver – Canada

Chan and Avenue Road first cleaned up the Toronto space by covering brickwork and mechanical systems, and painting all the walls white. Existing rough wooden beams and columns are left exposed as a contrast to this neutral backdrop, with a series of other industrial-style metalwork providing a reference to the history of the space.

The white color of the parquet and walls in opposition to the tuff of the vaults and recesses, a warm and expressive material of the local architectural tradition, is the predominant element. To give greater lightness to the tuff are conceived simple black hangers surmounted by small square, rectangular or circular shelves.

Guests at the entrance are greeted by a spectacular composition of huge concrete reception desk, and a stairway wrapped around it. Although the building is not industrial, solving the problem of saving, we avoided unnecessary decorations to the maximum and incorporated the existing building structures into the aesthetic concept of interior design.

The “imperfect finish” and natural hues of Malababa’s aesthetics strengthen the artisan and sustainable concept. All walls are rendered with a mix of Galician clay, white marble powder from Almería and totally natural, ecological and non-toxic food thickeners.

To reflect the traditions of making a rice dough, we used a wooden barrel as tables with a real rice grains inside. And to complete the overall concept, the bamboo rods were used as a ceiling feature with dimming technology that changes the café mood every minute. It delivers an exceptional piece and creates an instagrammable moment.

For the design of Sneaker District Antwerp, Barde + vanVoltt were inspired by sneaker design, the neighborhood and how sneakers are made. This resulted in a stand-out store showcasing a strong dark grey base on top of a concrete floor combining color, different materials, a touch of nature and some savvy street styles.

The main feature of the space comes from the choice to use only two colors (black and white) and few materials (iron, wired glass and resin). The workspace (graphic workshop and tattoo workshop) are white coloured, on the contrary the waiting room is black coloured.

We reinterpret English classical style in a brand-new way. To shape this universe we mixed different patterns and colours, golden and metal details with oak tables, we made transforming lights, which could be changed by the remote from cold to warm. The interior combines industrial materials with a sophisticated palette of pink, green, blue and yellow. A thick pale-pink stripe surges down the centre of the concrete floor, topped by assemblages of geometrically shaped fixtures that elevate the products with colour.

baLon.fem beauty salon by Log.design, Fukuoka – Japan

Although the space is not large, the effect of making gates that light up the entire line and the gray mirror which is used on the closet made the space visually large enough. For the reception counter and the set stand of the symbolic elements of this salon were created by combining mortar and solid wood to leave a sense of each texture and finished it into a simple design with a solid feeling.
