This is New Retail- it’s all about the customer. Over the front door there’s a rock concert sized LED screen. Out the front of the store are fitment bays where you can have your new purchases fitted and have a battery of tests and checks done.

Serra is the Italian word for greenhouse, and this is reflected in the design of the shop’s display cases. The black-framed vitrines have pitched glass tops to display the varieties of edibles, oils and smokeable products, along with the equipment needed to use them.

B have collaborated with Nottingham based surface designer, Katie Gilles, on bespoke jesmonite surfaces and display plinths. “Freckled with black and pink pigment, the jesmonite reflects the tactile qualities of handmade paper while chalky pink tiles and Dinesen Douglas floating shelves in a white Lye oil and soap finish provide a soft, neutral backdrop.” says Sidonie Warren, co-founder of B and Papersmiths.

Much of the products are presented as self-service items with more premium pens and gifts displayed under glass. Materials were selected to remain functional and to provide a neutral background to the product whilst clearly linking to the strong brand colours of Black and Yellow.
