Ann Demeulemeester Shop by Mass Studies, Seoul

The site is located in an alley, at a block’s distance from Dosandae-ro – a busy thoroughfare in Seoul’s Gangnam district – in close proximity to Dosan Park. Primarily residential in the past, the neighborhood is undergoing a rapid transformation into an upscale commercial district full of shops and restaurants.

Ensayar by Adrianopoulos + Associates, Athens

Creating a unique space, but harmonious and relaxing was the main goal in the procedure of creating “ENSAYAR”, in Athens- Greece. Thousands of ropes hanging from the ceiling and the reflection of light between them is the first impression of a space that had to be the ideal background and support for the merchandise but at the same time not common to what a retail store is usually like.

My.Suit by UnSPACE, New York City (A.R.E Awards)

Less is more in this men’s suit retailer, which offers a 3,000-square-foot space for men to enjoy custom designing their own suit, a tangible representation of their web shopping experience. Suits are visually displayed without looking busy, suit fabrics on hand to touch and feel are held by magnets, and fixtures have integrated projectors and monitors for the interactive suitbuilding process.

Taking an existing store into its second generation, designers drew strengths from the first store, such as the use of marble, to create a high-end appeal and incorporated new elements for a fresh, updated look that better represents the brand’s men’s and women’s apparel.

Hugo Boss Orange concept store, Shanghai

Instore graphics for the Hugo Boss Orange Concept Store Shanghai. Themed under “Good old Germany…”, an over 19.68 feet high fantasy tree was illustrated and screen printed. Wooden carvings and golden motives decorate the changing rooms. A traditional rubber stamp set consisting of 10 German sing and forest birds in life-size has also been produced to cover walls and furniture by hand.

Adidas Y-3 store, Beijing

Last Friday, the high-end and entirely awesome Y-3 branch of adidas opened its fifth freestanding location in Beijing, setting up shop at Shin Kong Place and offering a full assortment of the Yohji Yamamoto designed Fall line.

Villa Moda by Marcel Wanders, Bahrain

Villa Moda, has opened its seventh luxury fashion emporium, a 1050 m² space in a new ultra luxury shopping mall, the Moda Mall in Bahrain, in 2009. Villa Moda Bahrain features staggeringly innovative and fantastical designs by Dutch design maverick Marcel Wanders. Situated in a prime central location with views over the sea, the store sits alongside luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Fendi.

The concept is an analysis of the ideas, fabrics, colors and designers’ work & personality: ‘‘fabric over fabric’’ or ‘‘combining hard with light materials’’- glass with concrete, or tin/stainless steel with plaster. The shop supplies itself by natural light through open-back windows that make the interior space, made visibly larger by prolonged existing window apertures and the possibility of using the window bench for sitting/hiding heating system, visible to the passing spectators.

H&M store Estudio Mariscal, Barcelona

Edtudio Mariscal did a complete work for H&M in Barcelona: Architecture, lighting, furniture, graphics… even the shopping bags. A design project aimed at creating excitement among the customers that go into the shop. Excitement at buying clothes and also to be shopping in a pleasant, comfortable, unique place.

Lucien Pellat-Finet Shinsaibashi by Kengo Kuma, Osaka

Influenced by the organic patterns found in plants, Kengo Kuma has created this shop and café in Tokyo for fashion designer Lucien Pellat-Finet. In his design, Kuma uses a honeycomb structure comprised of Lauan-made plywood to envelope the space. This three-dimensional structure ingeniously serves as the retail display system used throughout the shop; with the natural warmth of wood complementing a fashion line notorious for its assemblage of iconic cashmere sweaters.

Adidas Y-3 Flagship Store, Milan

Located on Via De Cristoforis, the two-floor store in the heart of Milan is 200 square meters big, with a more minimal and chic look than the dark and edgy Y-3 stores seen in other locales. The space features warehouse-style inspiratoin, with a white resin floor, steel shelves and stands, and furniture made from bolted iron. A dramatic spiral staircase can be found in the center of the showroom.

G-Star by 93ft

Having already worked on two stores with G-Star, we were asked to produce their new store in Sheffield’s city centre. Our role was to work closely with G-Star’s in house architecture team to ensure that all design elements were carried out as intended.

Adidas SLVR Store, New York

Adidas opened its first adidas SLVR store during New York Fashion Week in February 2009. Located in Soho, the 250 square meter space reflects the values of the adidas SLVR brand, including simplicity, transparency and functionality. White is the main colour used throughout the space with accents of silver metal giving it a sense of light and fluidity.

The concept of the flagship store of the Belgian undershirt brand Le Fabuleux Marcel de Brusells, wants to underline de nostalgic character of the brand by creating a functional background. The new elemens, being the white structures of the clothing racks, the mirrors and the fitting rooms, always start from the ceiling to create a frame for the vintage furniture within the shop

Occupying a 300m2 space over two levels, “Hunting and Collecting” carries a constantly rotating selection of more than 30 exclusive brands for men, women and children. The store also provides footwear, accessories, design objects, and press dedicated to modern culture. On the lower level, a newly refurbished gallery space holds regular exhibitions, showcasing the latest works of artists and designers.

Arnsdorf temporary concept store, Melbourne

Edwards Moore designed a temporary cave-like space, providing an intimate setting and backdrop for Arnsdorfs ‘Opticks’ collection. Inspired by crystalline forms and imagery of rocky landscapes, Edwards Moore reinterpreted an everyday wearable item- stretching and wrapping it to envelop the space in soft hues and showcase the sculptural collection.

Wrong Weather, Porto

Having a gallery space inside the store Wrong Weather often takes part in art events, naturally wanting to expand their love for art to the clothes on display they have hired a noted Italian Architect Francesco Moncada to create a special furniture installation comprised of more than 200 pieces.

I.T HYSAN ONE Store by Wonderwall, Hong Kong

For this new multi-brand store by the leading fashion retailer, I.T., Katayama designed both the building as well as the interior, which consist of four floors including the basement. Katayama chose mortar for both the exterior and most of the common areas in order to maintain consistency while accommodating each of the designer’s varing styles.

Harvey Nichols store, Ankara

Our association with Harvey Nichols goes back many years and we created their first Turkish store in Istanbul two years ago. The second Harvey Nichols store in Turkey needed to build on the success of the first, but without simply duplicating its design. It had to be a store in its own right, offering a distinct shopping experience, and with all the values you expect from Harvey Nichols.
