Japanese design art by Zapalgo

Firstly, the figure was placed thrice each time rotated by 120 degrees. Secondly, this rotation was brought to life by rearranging it in height and by expressing it in natural materials: pure metals and natural wood. Such construction is extraordinary because it enabled Zapalgo to create a lamp without using any screws, welds or glue.

Serpentine Gallery Pavilion by Frida Escobedo, London – UK

Escobedo’s design, which fuses elements typical to Mexican architecture with local London references, features a courtyard enclosed by two rectangular volumes constructed from cement roof tiles. These tiles are stacked to form a celosia, a type of wall common to Mexican architecture which is permeable, allowing ventilation and views to the other side.
