Mykita eyewear store, Tokyo – Japan

March 29th, 2016 by Camra’s blog

Five years after first opening up shop in Tokyo, forward eyewear brand Mykita has not only revamped but also expanded its first standalone outpost in the far east. The premises now one-and-a-half times bigger, the shop setting has remained its understated aesthetic, including the brand’s signature eyeframe wall.

Crafted from perforated metal panels, it covers opposite walls, and on one side it extends to the far end of the shop, and its expansive enough to showcase no less than 400 of Mykita’s coveted eyeframes and sunglasses. Furnishings, such as the sales counter and storage cabinets, are made of untreated timber and infuse the austere retail space with an additional sense of warmth.
